Quiet area and building, next to the beach and train
Former Tenant
Pros:
Quiet building and neighbors are mostly older people. Overnight doorman included. Seasonal decoration in the building is nice. 1 or 2 blocks away from the train or bus. A lot of pets. New medical center built right next to it. Deli a block away. Next to the beach, great for summer living. Apartment is cozy. Clean bathroom. It has a nice side view of the beach and of the train. Skatepark ten blocks away.
Cons:
Area issues: Wind is really heavy during winter. there’s plenty of food options available for delivery but food in the area is expensive.. Building issues: Leak from the apartment above took months to get fixed and they saw the mold in my apartment and did nothing till I told them again. Roach infestation in my floor’s garbage disposal took almost a year to get fully tackled. Pet noises from apartment above are very loud. (Scratching ) Water pipes are scaring me since water is often cloudy and it gets brownish during heavy winds/storms.
Apartment issues to fix: Yellow lighting in my apartment is low and insufficient. Bathtub gets clogged easily and the shower head’s water pressure is very strong and makes a noise. Stove is newly placed but it’s an old or cheap brand, takes a while to spark and has a gassy smell. No ac.
Advice to owner:
Mold testing should be offered for apartments that have had mold before . My wall caught mold on both sides cause of water leak.
