Nice location, okay residence
Former Tenant
Pros:
Friendly residents
Helpful super — when available…
Cons:
Occasional pests — although pest control visits are 2x/month
Laundry room (pro) — near recycling and compost bins (con)
Underutilized green space behind the building — could easily be cleaned up and turned into a picnic/bbq area for residence

Thinnest Wall Ever
Former Tenant
Pros:
Lovely architectural details inside our apartment. The size of the bedroom is generous and our unit is on the corner so we get great light in the bedroom.
Cons:
Our upstairs neighbors are very very loud and due to the construction of the building (1920's) the walls are extremely thin on all sides. Would not recommend if you work from home. Me and my husband have to wear noise cancelling headphones all day and earplugs at night (our neighbors like to stay active above us until well in the early hours of the morning).

we also suspect there are mice in the walls although we have never seen any in our apartment. There is also a roach issue and what seems to be a leak starting in the ceiling in our bathroom.

Also, we had a small leak in our bathroom faucet and I'm so glad my husband understands how plumbing works because the super was about to remove the entire sink from the wall when all it needed was a new faucet. My husband intervened and fixed the faucet himself.
Advice to owner:
hire qualified people to make repairs and ensure they are done properly. Take an active role in ensuring neighbors have rugs laid down to mitigate noise levels and enforce quiet hours....at least between midnight and 5 am during the week. the noise level from yelling and stomping neighbors is almost unbearable.
