Great apartment and location but poor management and pests
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great location close to the train. Huge apartment for the price. Great kitchen. Access to roof which was a nice city escape. Astoria is a great neighborhood
Cons:
Landlord unlawfully withheld security deposit and lied about laws to try and get us to drop the issue. Found multiple mice and a ton of cockroaches towards the end of 2020. They had an exterminator come every month but didn’t seem to help. Management is unresponsive. Bedroom window had to leak three times before they believed me and fixed it. Towards the end packages started being stolen frequently probably because the front door wouldn’t lock which they hadn’t fixed. Also the trash room was a mess and always had mice downstairs. Also did not try to make any effort to work with us during the pandemic when our lease was up
Advice to owner:
Treating tenants well means they’ll retain better which ultimately is better for you as well. And don’t lie to your tenants
