Beware Do Not Rent
Former Tenant
Pros:
Its a quiet neighborhood and the property is clean for the most part.
Cons:
Landlady (Natalie Sherwood) is controlling and will come into the apartment anytime to complain about any little thing but only there to “drop off” supplies. Takes advantage of that as a way to snoop around and be invasive. Goes through peoples belongings. Security cameras are up but she uses it to watch tenants every move and be a stalker/peeping Tom. When you advocate for yourself and ask that your items not be touched she’s very nasty and says you can just leave and move out.In the Winter it’s freezing cold. If you turn on the heat the landlady will contact you and ask you why you’re turning on the heat when the floors are cheap and freezing cold and the place is not properly insulated. She has control of the thermostat so if you try to warm up the apartment she turns it down and is more concerned about saving her money than she is of the tenants freezing when there is a draft in the bedrooms. She covers the windows entirely in the winter so you have no access to it which is a safety violation. It’s also illegal to rent bedrooms but she rents individual bedrooms to different families and charges ridiculous amounts of money and then has the nerve to harass everyone by creating issues and coming in and out as she pleases and complaining about minor things and questioning. She wanted the place to look like a show room but when actual humans and utilizing a space dishes will need to be on the dryer rack sometimes, a pot will sometimes be on the stove. As long as everything is clean there should never be an issue.
Advice to owner:
My advice to the owner Natalie Sherwood is once you rent out a bedroom you need to stay out unless some maintenance or emergency is occurring. If you want to bring supplies leave it at the door and go about your business. There is no reason for you to be in the “common area” for hours putting away supplies. That would eliminate the major issue of privacy invasion. For the colder months allow tenants to control the thermostat. If it’s cold you need to properly insulate the apartment. Do not disturb people. If there are no emergencies or broken items there should be no issue especially if people are paying you.
