Overall Pretty Good
Former Tenant
Pros:
Beautiful amenities, perfect location, and great vibe all around
Cons:
Rooms are super small, management is just okay, not super responsive, and a minor pest problem that was quickly resolved.

Modern and nice building
Former Tenant
Pros:
-new building
-modern
-amenities
Cons:
-noisy
-no regular maintenance
Advice to owner:
Give regular maintenance to the rooms in common

Good for Price
Former Tenant
Pros:
Good amenities for price
Cons:
Elevators are slow and materials are cheap
10 months ago
Non responsive, non-acting management
Former Tenant
Pros:
Violent and psychotic roommate issues, management refuses to cooperate to provide a safe living space.
Cons:
Management unresponsive, unhelpful and possibly negligent
Advice to owner:
Screen applicants better

Not Worth It
Former Tenant
Pros:
-apartments were new
-front-desk staff was very nice
-conveniently located above the EMR
Cons:
-management company was mostly unresponsive/focused on Instagram giveaways instead of real issues
-of the four elevators, one was often out of order, meaning wait times upward of 5 minutes
-certain things overlooked (e.g., placing the fire alarm right next to the bathroom door, allowing the steam to cause damage to the alarm)

Great concept, terrible execution
Former Tenant
Pros:
Amazing amenities, beautiful and elegant building, great sound proofing
Cons:
Terrible management. Very unresponsive to requests and haven’t refunded deposit after moving out for months
Advice to owner:
Need new management

Advice to owner:

It's ok
Former Tenant
Pros:
I liked the design and finishes of the building. I used to do the coliving option with Ollie before Common took over and the cleaning service was top notch. I also really liked that it was furnished.
Cons:
The elevators were the worst. It took forever to get down or go up and the elevators were always broken and in service. For a building so big, you would expect there to be more than 4 elevators.
Advice to owner:
LISTEN TO YOUR TENANTS

Decent building in Queens Plaza
Former Tenant
Pros:
Nice units. Quick repairs. Kind, chill doormen. Easy to use package room. Quick elevators. Great gym.
Cons:
Inconsistent communication from management. Dishonest practices re: concessions riders. High turnover of management and doormen. Annoying rules re: outdoor space closures and grills, making their use difficult - these amenities are primarily for showing off to potential residents rather than for actual use by residents. Expensive rent. Loud train noise, not able to open windows due to this.
Advice to owner:
Keep outdoor spaces open most/all year. Get rid of ridiculous rules re:using grills on 39th floor.

Our experience at Alta
Former Tenant
Pros:
Commute is amazing, apartment itself is beautiful, very nice renovations, kitchen is amazing
Cons:
Condensation issue is very annoying, no air circulation in the apartment at all, constant humidity, especially in the bathroom, therefore mold. The bathroom ALWAYS stinks when neighbors are cooking and you can hear EVERYTHING they are saying and doing when in the bathroom. Get ready to feel like you are in the kitchen of some cafe when neighbors are cooking, your whole apartment will stink.

One of the concierge guys always has disgusting attitude like he is doing a big favor to us all with his presence, bro just quit if you hate your job so much.

Live for two years
Former Tenant
Pros:
The front desk is available twenty-four hours a day, so you can get a delivery anytime. I really like the lounge on the top floor, the sixteenth floor comes with furniture that is clean, and the all-white bathroom style I really like.
Cons:
There is a receptionist who is not very nice to the residents, there is a possibility of losing the delivery, it happened many times weee packages were stolen and the maintenance staff was very slow.

Cons:

Advice to owner:

Going downhill since management changed
Former Tenant
Pros:
clean, nice amenities. Package room is 24hr
Cons:
Management responds super slow and have weird regulations on small things (like you have to give them your ID to use the dog park??). One of the doormen is extremely rude.

Bad package management
Former Tenant
Pros:
Quite. Spacious and kitchen is all white with white counter tops.
Cons:
Package management is so bad. And maintenance sometimes comes in but didn’t get issue fixed. When moved in the hot and cold water pipes were flipped for washer. Dryer cannot full dry the clothes.

Management is bad
Former Tenant
Pros:

Cons:

A solid option
Former Tenant
Pros:
Nice new construction with great amenities
Cons:
Insanely overpriced without concessions, neighbors are extremely antisocial, and the place is overrun by dogs whoch makes many areas of the bullding smell terrible. Management is impossible to reach even in urgent situations.
Advice to owner:
Be more attentive to your email and phones

Great bldg. ok management
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location! Connects to 8 different subway lines.
high quality construction. Modern appliances.
Cons:
Train noises even at higher floors.
electronic key stops working randomly
Not a friendly management. Very arrogant.
Advice to owner:
Flexible payments during covid should be considered.
Reservation system during covid is flawed. People don’t show up but people who are already there are not allowed to extend their time.
