Former Tenant
Pros:
Rent was below market rate, with small yearly increases. Utilities were included. Super was very kind and responsive to issues. Central location to Dumbo, Navy Yard, Downtown Brooklyn, Brooklyn Heights, and Fort Greene.
Cons:
Lack of responsiveness and honesty from the management company. The owner was actively trying to sell the building, but the management company attempted to hide this by claiming that the broker viewings were "inspections." Old building, poorly maintained. Heat would go out at least once each winter due to various boiler issues. Close to Tillary and Flatbush, a notoriously dangerous intersection for pedestrians.
Advice to owner:
Use a different management company and/or foster direct communication with tenants.

Cozy and unique pre-war building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Spacious apartments as there is only one unit per floor
Cons:
The traffic nearby is very loud
