A health hazard -Should be deemed unlivable for humans
Former Tenant
Pros:
888 east 96 st Brooklyn by 11236
Cons:
The outside of the building looks like an abandoned building, the grass and front is unkept , hallways are dirty and neighbor use the hallway as storage.
Neighbors steal packages. Garbage maintenance is mediocre.rodents run the place. Barely any heat, unsecured mailbox , majority of the apartments have mold , leaks , pluming issues.
Illegal bed rooms created in some of these apartments, windows are drafty and old, dangerous trees constantly fallen ,trees has fallen on people cars , and roofs. Electrical Wiring is terrible, 2 apartments caught fires and the tenants had toddlers and small children.
Liking roof in the hallway when it rains, every roof inside the apts on the front side of the building have collapsed due to a malfunction radiators system, swelling and holes near the radiator floors happen constantly, whole in the wall entrance and they do not remove the snow properly when it snows. Some apartments has poor insulation Causes the rooms to be extremely cold.illegal apartment basement in the building is used for drug activities and non-sense.
Laundry room has malfunctioning washers and dryers. The price for rent goes up in a manner That is illegal and yet no legal actions have been taking.
Tenants have tried to take the landlord to court but the city failed to provide proper support to help out with the process.
Advice to owner:
Property owner needs to learn professionalism, the spouse is very rude . only cares about collect rent Owners need to understand how to properly keep up with maintenance and respect their tenants living space. Learn how to have some descent human decency and manage their super intendant better. Have a system to check on work the super deemed us being done when it’s not.
Hire better help to maintain the building.
Learn how to protect your self investments and have some integrity on how much rent you are charging for these run-down apartments.
Charging these high prices for these unkept apartments should be illegal. Do the right thing by your tenants it’s not that hard -it’s really a simple thing to do. Do better.
