Nice neighborhood, but increase the rent very high after a year
Former Tenant
Pros:
Closed to Fort Green park, very pretty and quiet neighborhood, safe, closed to G, walkable distance to C, B subway stations, renovated the house pretty recently
Cons:
Increased the rent a lot after a year contract, one time has pest issue in the apt.

Do not live in 286 Clinton Ave 1C!!!!
Former Tenant
Pros:
It’s great location was the only pro of living here. At least we could escape to the park when weather was nice
Cons:
Where to begin? Here’s a list of problems that arose in 14mo and how they were “handled” by Akelius.
Bathroom leaked and ceiling fell thru 4x. More paint and plaster were applied until the next leak started showing again. Eventually the super told me he would have to contact a plumber which he never did. Calls and texts went unanswered. This most recently happened about a month before we moved out and I conceded for my sanity. This was June of 2021.
Heat was not kept at legal requirement of 68degs all winter! Akelius did not correct the boiler issue and paid us for our high electric bills because we required space heaters. Besides being uncomfortable and having to stay bundled up, we felt mad unsafe with those heaters on all night.
Boiler room is directly under 1C and when it turns on the rumble is intolerable. It was disruptive during zoom calls and woke us up at night. Not exaggerating when I say it made glasses fall off of our bar. We only wished the heat making all that noise was coming into our apartment. The boiler was “opened and drained” a few times. This did not help but we were told it should’ve so ya must’ve been us?
I cannot recommend enough that you do not live here!!!! After our experience with Akelius in 14mo there is no way they have any intention on fixing anything.
Other random small annoyances:
Outside patio is mosquito haven because of its lifted deck design has a lot of stagnant water underneath that you can’t reach to drain.
The bugs! Roaches and ant galore! The exterminator comes 2 Saturdays a month in the warm month between 8-1pm. We missed most of those windows.
Their app is useless. You still have to contact the call center which has to raise “requests” for literally everything.
Advice to owner:
Naaah Im sure they know they are fucked up! Shame on you for working for them and not doing anything to help people? Lol
