Nice landlord; okay building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Landlord was very accommodating and nice to us (e.g., let us move in a week early for free and move out a day late)

Location right across from Central Park and the 2/3 express is incredible - there's also access to the 6 so you can get to either east or west side easily

Friendly and responsive super

Pretty good closets in most units
Cons:
It's an old building with dated appliances / finishings, and
it is not especially clean. While we saw no rats in the building, we typically came across 1-2 roaches in our unit per week. Exterminator would just come and spray wantonly across our apartment, even in the kitchen while we were cooking.

Noise level can be quite high given activity in central park; the noise in the entryway corridor also reverberates into almost every unit. We had trouble sleeping because of this.

Apartment runs hot in the winter, meaning you have to open windows, making noise a bigger issue

Large windows in most units, but natural light can still be bad. Pay attention to which direction your windows face and what obstructions there are.
Advice to owner:
Install some new appliances and cabinets and refresh the units. Invest in some better pest control, and open up the roof to tenants. Then this would be a true gem on central park north!
