The worst building I've lived in
Former Tenant
Pros:
There is nothing positive to say about this building.
Cons:
This was the most unpleasant building I've lived in, across 7 years of living in New York City. It was extremely depressing-- most people in the building are in poverty, and two of the largest people I've ever seen in my life live in the building. Nothing about this building makes you feel like you're living the New York life.

The walls are so thin, I could hear my neighbors' cell phones ringing. My upstairs neighbor was a lunatic who blasted music, and my downstairs neighbor policed my (very reasonable) noise level and would leave me snarling notes under the door.

The super is the crankiest lady you've ever met who loves gossiping about tenants. The point of contact at the management company, Nicky, is also catty and a huge gossip.

Despite that this is an extremely inelegant place to live, the building is obsessed with the idea that people are running AirBnbs and they spy on residents using security cameras in the hallway.

Most notably, the building began an immense construction project-- repointing the exterior of the building-- and didn't give residents a heads-up that there would be jackhammering from 8:30am - 4:30pm for many months. The building also didn't have the necessary permits to do this construction work, and they were fined by the Department of Buildings.
Advice to owner:
I'm so glad you had to go to court to answer to why you were doing construction without permits!

I grew up here
Former Tenant
Pros:
It's near the park
Cons:
The installation of cameras not to protect the building but to watch the tenants was very disheartening and felt racially charged. The rats are abhorrent and all you get from the super are glue traps.
Advice to owner:
Get to know your community more, most of the people there are decent its a shame how they have to live
