Review Summary for President Street Brooklyn LLC
Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent tenant reviews highlight President Street Brooklyn LLC's buildings as having significant issues. Residents express concerns about severe cleanliness and pest problems, poor garbage management, insufficient heating, and unresponsiveness from the owner, particularly Sam Chopra. Complaints include cockroach infestations, lack of proper heat in winter, and unlivable conditions after a fire incident. The lack of responsiveness to tenant needs and basic maintenance issues affects the overall living experience negatively. Pros include friendly neighbors and pre-war charm, but cons heavily outweigh the positive aspects. Approval and recommendations for staying are low due to multiple unresolved issues and inadequate management.

Cockroaches and no heat
Former Tenant
Pros:
At least I made it out alive.
Cons:
Massive cockroach infestation. These bugs had wings that’s how big they were. Saw at least 1 a day. Sam didn’t care if we had proper heat as long as the checks were rolling in. In the peak of winter, my bedroom thermostat was reading 35° Fahrenheit. Was told there was nothing he could do about it. Are you crazy? Would you want your family sleeping in those conditions? He likes to rent to college kids because he thinks they won’t know how to stand up for themselves. BEWARE.
Advice to owner:
Do you care about the wellbeing of others? Or humanity? Sick.

Sam Chopra is not a good landlord/person
Former Tenant
Pros:
Used to be a good place to set up with roommates.
Cons:
Unresponsive owner. Will not take responsibility for basic unit needs outlined in the lease. Will take a security deposit for basic wear and tear things. Will not properly handle when a fire occurs in unit and the skylight breaks and rain pours into the apartment making it unlivable. Heat doesn’t work when there is a newborn baby living in the building.
Advice to owner:
Stop being a landlord
