Wish I Could Stay Forever!
Former Tenant
Pros:
Everything works properly, we can control our own heat, it's mostly quiet, pest-free, easy garbage disposal, etc. Seriously don't have any complaints about the unit or building
Cons:
The super/landlord are a little slow to respond and the call box is a little tempermental

Coldest place I’ve ever lived in, but nice neighbors minus package thieves
Former Tenant
Pros:
Spacious apartment with updated kitchen counters and a cute bathroom. Bedroom fit a couch as well as my queen.
Cons:
It’s a naturally dark apartment because it’s on the first floor. The walls are pretty thin so sound and cold gets through easily. The kitchen update of the cabinets left several open holes where pests could come in and out of. It wasn’t sealed around the counter edges either. The radiators are all too small for the size of the rooms that they’re in and would run at the lowest setting to cut the owners costs, I’m certain. It is rent stabilized so I wouldn’t be surprised if they cut what they can when they can due to rent not being able to shoot off for their own benefit. The front door is incredibly drafty as well. They have had a high turn over of supers, who have all been ok, but they are generally stretched too thin because it’s a big building. First super was supposed to do a number of things to the apartment before I moved in, yet none of it got done, including the regrouting of the kitchen tiles. Because that never happened, little grout rocks would end up all over the floor of the kitchen and the tiles would move thus eventually breaking a number of them.
Advice to owner:
Turn up the heat, even if it’s hot for people upstairs. I shouldn’t have to ever call the city to get you guys to make your place more livable. And do better by your supers

This place is a dump
Former Tenant
Pros:
The infrastructure arches

Superintendent doesn’t take repair requests seriously and/or responds very unprofessionally
Property Manager Evelyn also very unprofessional talks to people like an animal
Jaime doesn’t care at all about the conditions in which people live.
Trash chute never gets cleaned
Building culture of leaving trash outside of trash chute
Infestation of roaches and mice

Some apartments cheap but poorly taken care of building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Rent is cheap since apartments are rent stabilized. Neighbors are friendly.
Cons:
Packages frequently stolen. Hallways are dirty, some neighbors treat the building poorly by spitting inside or leaving garbage in the hallways. Elevator goes out a lot, sometimes for just a day or two, sometimes a week, and once for 5 months straight. When leaks happen, maintenance guys do bad job don’t properly replaster sand and paint. Apartments lack outlets, bedroom only has 2 outlets. Moldings aren’t doorways are crooked. Windows do not lock.

Affordable and great value - with tradeoffs
Former Tenant
Pros:
Amazing location and value for those with limited budgets. Also, it's actually wonderfully ornate even if it's old.
Cons:
The building is very old and you can feel it. Would fairly regularly see cockroaches in the hallway and sometimes in the apartment.
Advice to owner:
Continue to upkeep the apartments.

Horrible management company
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location, high ceilings, large floor plans.
Cons:
Building management is careless, disrespectful and very rude. They don’t care about tenants. If you contact them with an issue they are defensive and treat you as if you lived there for free. Super is useless and never available to help. The lack of professionalism is astonishing. Elevators are in terrible condition. Units are large but very old and basic.
Advice to owner:
Be a professional management company that treats tenants as clients, be responsive, respectful and professional.
