Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Jacob Schwimmer’s buildings showcase a mix of well-maintained amenities, clean common areas, and friendly staff, notably superintendents and doormen who receive high praise. However, management responsiveness is often criticized for slow or inadequate handling of maintenance issues, pest control, and safety concerns. Communication gaps exist, especially during move-in and weekend periods without backup. Tenants report issues with noise due to thin walls and disruptive neighbors. Multiple reviews cite unresolved infestations, leasing frustration, and safety lapses including inadequate vetting and security. Overall, while the physical properties have potential and some favorable features, renters frequently face management challenges impacting their living experience.

Pros

Shared spaces were clean. Employees responsible for garbage handling were on top of it. Maintenance always came within a day or so.

Cons

Little communication in the initial move-in process. Would have liked more info as a new resident on how to gain entry to the building/room.

Cons

the built in speaker system doesn't work and the management is a little difficult and sometimes the amenities in the basement are broken
